The Mason C.F. Kossatz Memorial Scholarship

Established by the family, friends and colleagues of the late Mr. Mason C.F. Kossatz, who passed on in 1989, to commemorate his many contributions to his profession of mining engineering, a career that spanned four decades. Mr. Kossatz had always demonstrated a keen interest in the affairs of the University. Value: $3,100 for three years (total of $9,300). Recipient: a student (Ontario resident) entering the 2nd year of the Mining Engineering program, based on financial need and academic standing (min. 70% overall average). The scholarship is paid in three installments - in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of the program - providing the student maintains a min. 70% average. If he or she fails to do so, the remainder of the funds may be awarded to another qualified student. If, in any year, there is no qualified student, the funds will be donated to the library for the purchase of engineering books. The award is made on the recommendation of the School of Engineering and presented at an annual awards dinner. Application for In-Course Awards required.
