Music Scholarships
Each year CMU recognizes students gifted in music by offering six $500 scholarships on the basis of musical ability. Students applying for these scholarships must submit a letter of nomination from a music instructor and an audition tape. It is expected that students receiving the Music Entrance Scholarship will participate in music activities at CMU. These scholarships are renewable for 3 additional years.
Barbara Scott Scholarship
Bequeathed in 1880 by Barbara Scott for the student "excelling in Classics in the initial year". Value: $1,800.
Bombardier-Canadair Scholarship
To a student with high academic standing in Mechanical Engineering who is specializing in aeronautical engineering. Awarded on the recommendation of the Department.
David Holt Award
Awarded for excellence in the field of jazz studies. Established in 1989 by Mr. Steve Holt, the Faculty of Music's first B.Mus. in jazz performance, 1981, in memory of his father, David Holt, 1923-1979. Value: $300.
