It is offered to an outstanding student entering second, third or fourth year in the Department of Plant Science and specializing in horticulture. The award is made on the basis of a demonstrated interest and ability in commercial horticulture as shown by practical work experience in commercial or public horticulture. In the event that two students are considered equal, consideration will be given to the need for financial assistance. The scholarship is awarded on the joint recommendation of the Director of the Botanical Garden and the Head of the Department of Plant Science.
