A memorial award fund has been established by family and friends of Ruth St. John to provide an annual award of up to $1,000 for a student who has completed two or more years of full-time study in the Science program at any campus of Okanagan College and who is proceeding to the third or fourth year of a Science program at any post-secondary institution the following September for a subsequent year of full-time study. Preference will be given to a mature, female student with family responsibilities who is intending to pursue a career in Science. If there is no student meeting the above-noted eligibility requirements, then the award may be given to a student who has completed one or more years of full-time study in any university transfer or degree program at Okanagan College and is proceeding to any post-secondary institution for a subsequent year of full-time study. Selection of the award recipient will be based on a combination of academic achievement and financial need.
