A $1,000 prize is offered by ASHRAE, American Society of Heating, Ventilating, & Airconditioning Engineers Inc., to an undergraduate student in Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (MECH 473) or a graduate student conducting heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration related research. The award is made on the recommendation of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Selection is based on academic standing in secondary school and/ or post-secondary studies. Other factors may be taken into consideration such as participation in school activities, community involvement and demonstrated leadership qualities.
