The BCIT Staff - High Tech, High Promise Capital Campaign Entrance Award
Selection is based on academic standing in secondary school and/ or post-secondary studies. Other factors may be taken into consideration such as participation in school activities, community involvement and demonstrated leadership qualities.
Jason Mayes Memorial Award
1 award, $500; available to 3rd or 4th year Creative Writing / Journalism students enrolled in Publishing or Scriptwriting, based on recommendation of the department. No application necessary. Funds issued in March.
Lake Cowichan Combined Fire Organization Awards
2 awards, $300 each; to Forestry Resources Technology students who demonstrate an interest or career objective in fire protection, as recommended by faculty. No application necessary. Funds issued in March.
Ray Hindle Award
1 award, $500; for achievement and commitment to studies; available to students in any Trades & Applied Technology program, including Applied Business Technology. Based on recommendation of instructors and program area. No application necessary. Funds issued at graduation.
J.B. Woodyatt Scholarships
Established to commemorate the late J.B. Woodyatt, Electrical Engineering, 1907, for students who have completed a minimum of one year in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Awarded on the basis of scholastic ability. Value: $2,000 each.
Frank Rigler Prize in Ecology
Established by friends and colleagues of the late Professor Frank H. Rigler to honour his many contributions to a scientific ecology. Awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Biology for excellence in ecology to a student entering or completing the final year. Value: $750.
