Ann and William Messenger Graduate Scholarship in English
A $9,500 scholarship has been endowed by William E. Messenger. The award is offered to a doctoral student in English on the recommendation of the Department of English, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
BCIT PRESIDENT'S ENTRANCE AWARDS
Selection is based upon academic achievement, participation and contribution to school activities, leadership and citizenship as well as volunteer and/or community service. Must be entering a full-time BCIT credential program.
Manitoba Blue Cross Bursary for Students with Special Needs
Awarded to a student entering any program who must incur additional expenses to attend the University due to a physical or other handicap.
Leo Neufeld Linear Algebra Award
This award honours Leo Neufeld, the former head of the Mathematics Department at Camosun College for more than 25 years. It is presented annually to a Camosun College Mathematics student for outstanding achievement in Mathematics, particularly linear algebra.
Canadian Hospitality Foundation Culinary Excellence Award
1 award, $500; available to Culinary Arts students continuing to the last level of the program, for professional promise, demonstrated culinary skills, scholastic work, financial need and extracurricular activities. Department nomination submitted in May of each year.
Nanaimo Rhododendron Society Award
1 award, $300; for successful academic progress, available to Horticulture Technician students. Financial need may also be considered. No application necessary. Funds issued in June.
The Dr. Andrew Szendrovits Memorial Scholarship (B)
To be awarded to the student enrolled in a Commerce program who achieves the highest average in the operations/management science courses (COMMERCE 3QC3 and 3QA3) taken in the same session.
William Eugene MacInnes Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship of $1,200 is available for a student in Arts, Science or Engineering who is entering the fourth year of University work. Consideration is given, not only to scholastic standing, but also to achievement in student government and in athletics.
Apotex Inc. Bursary
Two bursaries of $750 each, the gift of Apotex Inc., are offered to students in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. They are awarded to students with good scholastic achievement who show need for financial assistance.
James M. Orr Scholarship
Scholarships totalling $1,000 have been endowed by Dr. James M. Orr for undergraduate students in Pharmaceutical Sciences who have achieved excellence in pharmacokinetics. The award is made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Stewart-Mary Arbuckle Bursary in Medicine
Bursaries totalling $4,600 have been endowed through a bequest by Stewart-Mary Arbuckle for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Medicine.
Education Students' Association Bursary
Two bursaries of $500 each are offered by the Education Students' Association, with one award going to a needy student in Elementary Education and the second to a needy student in Secondary Education. First preference is given to active members of the Association.
Donald B. Fields Prize
The prize is awarded to the student obtaining the highest standing in Commerce 355 (Income Taxation) and is made on the recommendation of the Faculty.
