The F.G.T. Pickard Memorial Scholarship Fund
Created in honour of the late Dr. Franklin G.T. Pickard, Chief Executive Officer of Falconbridge Limited until his death in 1996, and a leader in Canada's mining industry. Value: $1,500/ea. Awarded in December to students entering the upper years of an undergraduate program (or graduate studies) in the fields of Metallurgy, Mining Engineering or Earth Sciences. Applicants must have good academic standing and outline positive contributions and extracurricular activities (academic nature or other). If there are no suitable applicants, the funds may be available as bursaries to students in the above-mentioned programs on the basis of financial need. Application required by October 31.
