The Mrs. Dominga de la Riva Memorial Scholarships

Established by her daughter to honour the memory of the late Mrs. Dominga de la Riva, an outstanding mother, admired and cherished for her ability to reflect warmth and friendship to all she knew. She was born in Spain and raised two children through the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and the postwar period. When her children immigrated to Canada, she did not hesitate to leave the country she loved so much. Value: $500/ea. Recipients: full-time students entering the 3rd or 4th year of Modern Languages and Literatures, Spanish program. Selection is based on academic standing (min. 75%) and financial need.
