It is a one-year award valued between $3,000 and $7,000, intended primarily as a means of recruiting to this University outstanding applicants who are considering enrolling at other institutions. This award is not subject to application by the student; the department nominates the student for an award of a specific amount and the Dean of Graduate Studies adjudicates the award on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee. Departmental nominations may be submitted to the Dean of Graduate Studies, by memorandum, at any time.
