DOUG McDOWELL MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP
AVAILABLE TO: UCFV students who are returning to UCFV to continue studies in mathematics or a related area.
STIPULATIONS: The students who are awarded the Doug McDowell scholarship must satisfy the following criteria:
-have demonstrated genuine interest and considerable ability in mathematics.
-have taken at least four mathematics/statistics courses beyond the first-year level.
Jocelyn Roberts Memorial Bursary for Firefighters
Applications are welcomed from career or volunteer fire fighters who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents enrolled in the Fire and Safety Studies Dipoma Program, Fire Services Leadership Diploma, or the Bachelor of Fire and Safety Studies Degree Program.
Lionel Hennessy Memorial Scholarship
1 award, $350; available to an outstanding student in the Jazz program, as nominated by faculty, based on musicianship, personal qualities and potential to contribute to Canadian music. No application necessary. Funds issued in March.
The English Department Bursary
Value: $500. Recipient: a full-time student entering any year of an English program, on the basis of financial need and Ontario residency as defined by OSAP. Application required.
BETA SIGMA PHI BURSARY
Awarded to a student in the School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition who has satisfactorily completed first or second year and is in need of financial assistance. Value: $500.
Shakespeare Scholarship
For a student advancing to the final year with special distinction in English Honours courses. Awarded on the recommendation of the Department of English. Value: $400.
F.T.M. White Award
Established in memory of the late Prof. F.T.M. White, Chairman of the Department of Mining Engineering and Applied Geophysics 1966-1971. Awarded annually to a deserving student in the Schulich School of Music for excellence in performance and/or composition. Established in 1988 through a generous gift from Frank Mills, a former student of the Faculty. Estimated value: $1,500.

Dr. John L. Oulton Memorial Prize in Anaesthesia
The prize is awarded to the undergraduate proceeding to the fourth year considered by the Department as demonstrating general proficiency in the understanding of Clinical Anaesthesia.
Patrick Clery Scholarship in Law
Entrance scholarships totalling $5,500 are offered to undergraduate students entering first year law and are made on the recommendation of the Faculty.
Barbara Anne Wiebe Memorial Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship is for undergraduate or graduate students studying English language and literature. The award is made on the recommendation of the Department of English and, in the case of graduate students, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Werner Forster Memorial Scholarship in Architecture
Scholarships totalling $2,000 are awarded to students in the architecture program in the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. The award is made on the recommendation of the School.
B.P. Beirne Prize in Pest Management
An annual prize with accompanying certificate will be awarded during May each year to the outstanding graduate from the master of pest management program in the three semesters immediately preceding Convocation.
