The bequest of George E. Winkler, a highly successful British Columbia Prospector, provides for scholarship support of outstanding graduate and undergraduate students in geological sciences, geological engineering, and mineral engineering as follows: fellowships and scholarships totalling $14,900 are distributed on the basis of need and distinction to students in the geological and mineralogical sciences. Additional funds may be available to assist students in pursuing their research. Funds are awarded on the recommendation of the department of Geological Sciences.
