It is awarded to a student with an outstanding record in the biological sciences who is deserving of financial assistance. Preference is given to a candidate continuing studies or research in marine biology. The award is made on the joint recommendation of the Departments of Earth and Ocean Sciences, Botany and Zoology and in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
