Established in 1990 by the McGill Engineering community in commemoration of the 14 women who lost their lives as a result of the massacre aimed at women engineering students that took place on December 6th, 1989, at Ecole Polytechnique. Two prizes awarded annually one to a graduating student at any degree level at Ecole Polytechnique and one to a graduating student at any degree level at McGill University. Awarded to a student in recognition of contributions to making engineering a profession open to the talents of all men and women.
