Wim Gilles Memorial Award for 'Form Giving'
Value $200. Awarded annually to a student graduating from the School of Industrial Design who has appropriately demonstrated the elements of good `Form-Giving? in their Major Studio project. The recipient will be selected by the Director of the School of Industrial Design. Established in 2003 by Brian Burns in Memory of Willem (Wim) Gilles, founder of the School of Industrial Design.
Bell Canada Enterprises Entrance Award
Selection is based on academic standing in secondary school and/ or post-secondary studies. Other factors may be taken into consideration such as participation in school activities, community involvement and demonstrated leadership qualities.
Cloverdale Paint Award
1 award, $600; for full-time students who are Canadian Citizens and whose family resides in BC or Alberta, with a demonstrated commitment to community service and career or entrepreneurial activities. Malaspina University-College Scholarships for Academic Excellence
Awards, $500 each; in recognition of academic achievement in various programs for students entering second to fifth year at Malaspina University-College. No application necessary. Funds awarded as a tuition credit for the fall term.
Filberg Park Garden Show Award
1 award, $250; available to students from SD #71 (Comox Valley) who are continuing studies in horticulture or related programs, with a preference to students with an interest in heritage gardens. Apply to Financial Aid & Awards office by March 31. Funds issued in April.
MacLean Murray Scholarships
Three scholarships, established in 1993 by a bequest from the estate of Gordon Alexander Murray, B.A. 1950. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Scholarships Committee on the basis of academic merit. Value: minimum $1,500 each.
Clifford C.F. Wong Scholarship (Engineering)
Endowed in 1989 by the late Clifford C.F. Wong, B.Arch. 1960, to recognize distinguished academic standing. Awarded by the Faculty of Engineering Scholarships Committee to a continuing student having completed at least one year in the Bachelor of Engineering program. Value: $1,500.
The Citizen Action Group Prize (SS)*
To be awarded to the student in a program in Social Work who submits an essay or report based on the student's field work experience that best addresses the need for innovative or non-traditional social work practice.
The Mary E. Keyes Residence Scholarship (B)
Awarded to the student with the highest Sessional Average (at least 9.5) in an undergraduate program, with the exception of those in their graduating session, who resides in the residence.
Morris Bahm Memorial Literacy Award
Award Criteria: FSJ student in ABE intent on upgrading their literacy skills to enable them to function confidently in business enrolled full-time
Joel Bert Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship is offered to an undergraduate student in the final year of Chemical and Biological Engineering, with preference given to those with an interest in applying engineering principles to human health concerns. The award is made on the recommendation of the Department.
John Neil McLeod Scholarship
A scholarship of $700 has been endowed through a bequest of John Neil McLeod. The award is made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Medicine.
Yu Ping Chau Scholarship
The award is made to a student entering first year Medicine, on the recommendation of the Faculty. The financial circumstances of the candidate may be a factor. Preference is given to students of Chinese descent.
Don Wright Scholarship in Vocal and Choral Music Education
The scholarship is awarded on the recommendation of the Department to a full-time student in the Music Education program who has demonstrated a special aptitude for vocal and choral music (the Changing Voice) and the teaching of the same.
Temple Maynard Graduate Scholarship in English
