Eliza Ritchie Doctoral Scholarship for Women
- The award is intended to attract outstanding female students into a Programme of studies leading to the PhD degree.
- To be eligible, students must have been accepted into a PhD programme at Dalhousie before applying for the scholarship.
-Scholarships will be awarded to Canadian citizens or permanent residents only; with preference given to candidates from the Atlantic Provinces.
-Award recipients will be identified by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Scholarship Committee.
-The general Dalhousie Graduate Award Rules are applied, except that the Award must be taken up upon commencing the first year of the degree programme.
-The Award is renewable, subject to an annual progress review (first-class standing required) by the Faculty of Graduate Studies Scholarship Committee.
-An award can be held for a maximum of 36 months of full-time study.
-One new award is made each year.
-The Award is valued at $24,000 (2007-2008) for a twelve-month academic year
-The Award is tenable only at Dalhousie University.
-Fees are not waived and must be paid out of the award.
-Application and annual renewal request deadline: March 15th.

Leslie F. S. Upton Memorial Prize
It is made to a third or fourth year student majoring in History, Medieval Studies or International Relations (with a history emphasis) who has written the best essay in a competitive examination organized and adjudicated by the History Department before December 15.
Sentinel Prize in Anthropology
The award is offered to a student specializing in Anthropology and is made on the recommendation of the Department of Anthropology and Sociology and, in the case of graduate students, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
The Everette Patterson Memorial Scholarship
