This fund provides up to three scholarships of $1,000 each. Of the two entrance scholarships, one is named the Margaret Florence Newcombe Scholarship, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the graduation of the first woman graduate of Dalhousie University in 1885. This scholarship includes a financial need component and consideration of extra curricular activities, in addition to the attainment of high academic standing. The second scholarship is named the Ruth Skaling Murray Scholarship, in memory of a dedicated alumna of the Dalhousie Women's Division. (The third award is open to returning students.)
