The award is made on the recommendation of the Faculty of Education to an outstanding student intending to teach social studies, and enrolled in the final year of the B.Ed. Program.
Selection is based on academic standing in secondary school and/ or post-secondary studies. Other factors may be taken into consideration such as participation in school activities, community involvement and demonstrated leadership qualities.
An annual $500 award to a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts degree program with a declared concentration in Political Economy who has demonstrated volunteer community service, preferably with youth-in-poverty programs.
