An award fund has been established with the Community Foundation of the North Okanagan to provide three or four annual awards of $1,000 each for students who have graduated from one of the following programs at any campus of Okanagan College: Home Support/Resident Care Attendant, Therapist Assistant, Human Service Work, or Practical Nursing. Recipients must be permanent residents of the Okanagan College region; where there are two or more equally qualified applicants, preference will be given to permanent residents of School District No. 22 (Vernon). APPLICANTS MUST INCLUDE A LETTER stating why they have chosen their program of study and indicate what strengths they would bring to the role of caregiver in that program. Selection of recipients will be based on a combination of academic achievement and financial need, with emphasis on financial need.
Postings and application forms are forwarded to applicable departments each year and made available to eligible students. Completed applications must be received at the Student Services Welcome Centre by the posted deadline date.
