The Jennifer Urton Memorial Award Fund has been established by the Nelson Lumber Foundation to provide an annual award of $2,000 for a student entering their first year of full-time study in any program at the Kelowna Campus of Okanagan College. The recipient must have been absent from high school for at least one year and will have upgraded their academic standing in order to qualify for post-secondary studies at Okanagan College. Preference will be given to students that have completed their upgrading in Okanagan College's Adult Academic and Career Preparation program. The recipient must be permanent resident of B.C. Selection of the award recipient will be based on a combination of academic achievement and financial need, with emphasis on need and their determination to succeed academically.
