Sir William Macdonald Scholarships

Established in 1881 by the late Sir William Macdonald. Available to students with outstanding merit entering any full-time undergraduate degree program. While academic standing is of primary importance, account may also be taken of financial need and/or qualities of leadership in community and school activities.

Awarded by the University Committee on Scholarships and Student Aid and renewable provided the holder maintains an academic standing satisfactory to the Committee.

Value: minimum $2,000 each.

Margaret J. Brown Memorial Award

1 award, $1,000; available to students enrolled in, and continuing in either a Bachelor of Business Administration or a Bachelor of Education degree program (including post-Baccalaureate Education degree). Lake Cowichan Combined Fire Organization Awards

2 awards, $300 each; to Forestry Resources Technology students who demonstrate an interest or career objective in fire protection, as recommended by faculty. No application necessary. Funds issued in March.

William Matthews Endowment Scholarship

1 award, $100; available to top students graduating from the Power Sports & Marine Technician program. No application necessary. Funds issued at graduation.

The Father Lorenzo Cadieux Memorial Bursary

Donated by the faculty and staff of the Department of History. Value: $500. Recipient: a full-time student entering any year of the History program, on the basis of financial need, good academic standing and Ontario residency as defined by OSAP. Application required.

ROBERT HADDON COMMON CONVOCATION PRIZE

Awarded annually to the student achieving the highest aggregate average in the final year of the B.Sc.(F.Sc.). Value: $1,200.

Lloyd Carr-Harris String Scholarships

Established in 1999 through a generous gift from the Lloyd Carr-Harris Foundation. Awarded by the Schulich School of Music Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of the String Area to exceptionally gifted string players entering an undergraduate or graduate program in Performance. Value: $10,000; renewable twice.

GHS MILLS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Established in 2001 by Peter White in the name of the GHS Mills Memorial Foundation. Awarded by the Schulich School of Music Scholarships Committee to an outstanding student or students on the basis of financial need. Value: $3,500.
