Established in memory of Dr. George Rutherford Walker and Mary Walker. Dr. Walker was a surgeon in the Royal Canadian Navy (1942-44), and Acting P.M.O., HMCS York 1944. He retired as Lt. Col., Canadian Forces in 1970. He had a private practice in Sudbury (1950-1990), was a member of the surgical staff of the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto (1956-1958), and was Chief of Staff at Memorial Hospital (1982-1987). He was a member of the Ontario Cancer Treatment and Research Founding Board and an author of several medical articles. Value: $600.
