The scholarship is awarded to a student in Arts or Science who is entering the penultimate or final year with a good background of courses in economics and mathematics (including actuarial science). Special preference is given to students who have sat for actuarial exams leading to Fellowship in the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and to students who, after graduation, propose to enter the field of employee benefit plans or actuarial science. A student who receives the award in the third year will not be precluded from receiving it again in the final year.
