The award is made to a student entering the penultimate or final year in Chemical Engineering. Consideration is given to the student's academic standing, character, and interest and promise in the field of engineering. The financial circumstances of the candidates may be considered. The award is made on the recommendation of the department in consultation with a representative of the Student Chapter of the C.S.Ch.E./A.I.Ch.E. and a representative of the family.
