The award is made on the recommendation of the Faculty to a student who has successfully completed first year in elementary or secondary education (i.e. the initial 8 or 9 month winter session) and is continuing on to finish his/her degree. First preference is given to students specializing in history and social studies. At the discretion of the Faculty, the award may be divided in two.
