The prize is awarded to an undergraduate student for outstanding achievement in any third or fourth year course offered by the Department of History which deals primarily with the history of Asia, Africa or Latin America. The prize commemorates Professor Lehmann's passionate dedication to making students aware of the history and culture of the non-western world.
